Rain Rain, Don't go away

One of my very favorite things on this earth, is a good ol' rain storm. Since we have lived in Park City, we have had several of those, you know the kind where the rain drops are HUGE and soaks everything. In my mind, when I wake up and the sky is dark, it means a good day (a lot of people think that is depressing)! I guess my girls have learned to love it as well. Everytime it rains, they want to play outside in it. You are only young once!

A couple of things that the girls have said lately that I thought was pretty funny:

Tai: Got a new pair of shoes for school, yeah, I am a push over and let her wear them early. Anyway, my dad and mom came up to Park City and Heber to see the lawn and garden show. We decided to tag along with them. After a while of walking around, Tai took off her shoes and said, "my shoes are all slobbery." Ha ha ha- meaning that her feet were sweating in her shoes making them well, slobbery!!! :)

Teya: Lately she has been asking me what everything is made of. Like trees, dogs, clothes, ect.. Well this morning as I was getting the girls ready, she asked me, "Momma, what's my ganky (blanket) made of?" I just said, "cotton" and she said, "and rainbows?" "Yes sweetheart, (ha ha) and rainbows!!" If you know my daughter, she carries her blankets everywhere and they sort of have a rainbow pattern color to them.

Preschool at home

I guess this year I am going to have to home school Teya for Preschool. I have looked around a lot up here in PC and it is so flipping expensive, the cheapest that I have found is $300.00 a month. Just in case you chocked right there when you read it, I did the same thing. And yes, that is a month!!! So needless to say, I am going to be teaching my little one on my own. I came across this cute blog http://alwayssomethingtolearn.blogspot.com/ If you have any other sites that I could find some good ideas to do, please share! Unless you want to loan me $2,700 for preschool this year! Ha Ha Ha :(

I am pretty sure that I don't want these two to grow up!!! I just can't believe how fast time flies. With Tai starting Kindergarten in about a week, I am just so sad. I keep teasing her and saying that she should just stay home with me and that she can start school next year, or that I will meet her out on the playground everyday when they have recess in case she falls or gets hurts. (I am sort of kidding, but sort of serious too LOL)! What's a mom to do?

The newest member of our family

Now hold your horses (no pun intended), not a baby or anythig, a real horse. Meet Sunny Pickard Quarnberg!!! 3 years old, broke and ready to ride! Here he is, the girls love him, Jake loves to ride him and is in 7th heaven. Now, I am sure you are wondering, where we are keeping him since we moved to Park City. Well the funny thing is, we lived on or around the ranch for over 9 married years and never bought a horse, well 2 weeks before we decided to move we purchased Sunny. How ironic is that? So Kendall and Tanner are taking good care of Sunny for us back in Lost Creek. Everytime we are in town though, Jake saddles up and goes for a ride.

You tell me....

Do you think that I should be a little worried that Jake is living on his own part time, trying to survive on his own cooking skills? (Please notice the color of the item being cooked). I am only one woman and at the current time, we live apart half of each week, him in Park City and then me and the girls in Salina. So yeah, I am a little worried!!!! LOL

Seeing Uncle Shad

On our way to Carmel, we got to stop and see my brother Shad who only lives about 3o minutes out of the way. He drove up to Paso Robles to meet us for lunch. We were so excited to see him and spend some time with him.

Teya kept rubbing his face saying, "so soft, so soft." It was pretty funny!

Tai couldn't stop talking about Uncle Shad, she even got to ride with him in his truck over to the park.

Uncle Shad, we loved getting to see you for a bit. We love you and can't wait to see you again soon! Your part of the world is amazing and now we know why you love it so much!!!

BIG TIME CHANGES

Putting in the new floor, which looks so good!


For those of you who know us, you know that we are NEVER home!!!! It has been a whirl wind since Jake started working for Burns Saddlery just one short year ago. Jake has been on the road A LOT, I have gone every which direction with Dynamite Cheer and our two little angel girls, and we have loved every second of it!!! But all of that is about to change. We recently went to Carmel California to help open Burns' newest store Burns Cowboy Shop at Carmel by-the-sea!!! It is so amazing, I am in awe of the location, the new look of the store, and how fast the store was open. All the credit goes to the guys who were there busting their butts to get it done (Jake, Braydan, Scott, Wayland, and Matt) Mist and I just showed up for the fun part, getting all the merchandise out and looking amazing!!!! But back to my reason for the big time changes, With the new store being opened, Scott and Dana will be relocating to Carmel to run the store, therefore they needed someone up in Park City to run the Cowboy Shop on Historic Main Street, thus Jake comes in!!!! Yahoo for Jake, he got the opportunity of a lifetime, our little family will be moving there for him to Manage the store. The view from Scott and Dana's porch (really rough, I am not sure how they are going to live in such poverty!!! way to go, you two deserve it!)

My girls absolutely love the beach. It was a bit chilly for 3 of the days, but they didn't care, they still wanted to be there.

Finishing the Story

This is the "little" toy that Jake is in love with. He seriously spent every waking hour that he wasn't at Burn's on this bad boy!!! Just like most boys/men, they love to dig. He dug and dug and dug!!! Then it had to go back to the store!!!! (sniff, sniff) It was fun while it lasted.

Mini Excavator

This weekend was so nice!!!! I am so ready for summer (not mosquito's though). Yesterday we were out to the ranch and then girls were having so much fun, playing with sticks, finding pretty sparkly rocks, and throwing rocks in the water. Our summer has begun. Jake on the other hand was having his own kind of fun. (I can't get the photos of him to upload, but I will keep trying). Kendall rented a mini excavator to clean out the irrigation ditches and where they flood irrigate. Jake was in 7th heaven. He asked me if I wanted to give it a try, and I jumped at the opportunity. It was kind of fun. If he would have given me a couple more minutes, I might have mastered it, but I kept hearing him say, "Oh dear, (pause) Oh dear." Which is his nice way of saying "Oh &**$@" So here I am, digging ditches:

And here is where Jake made me get out. See the pipe, the dirt is supposed to be flush with that, ok, I got a little to deep, but hey, it was my first time! And it was fun. Now I know why Jake was so excited!

This picture was back in the first part of February. Just shows you how fast time flies by. The girls were so excited for even a little bit of warm weather to get to go outside. They ended up chasing eachother and wrestling. It was hillarious!

New Calling

Do you ever feel like just when you get settled and feel like you have control of your life and you can breathe for a minute, things get shook up again? Well I got a new calling last night from the stake. I am going to be one of the assistant stake camp directors or assistant to the stake camp director (for those office fans out there). And I couldn't be more excited about it!!! It has been quite a few years since I have been to girls camp and I have missed it every summer. I have no idea where we are going, what the theme is, or who I am going to find to watch my girls (Jake will be out of town for work, and two weeks later we go to Hawaii), but I am so excited!!! I found out some of the other leaders and we are going to have GOOD TIMES!!!!! So all you young women out there in the Salina Stake, hold on tight, it is going to be a wild ride!

"Rocking my new look"

The girls wanted to do my makeup one day, so after church I didn't have anywhere to be, and they gave me a new look. This is all out of Tai's makeup kit:

They enjoyed DIGGING their make up tools into the makeup, it gave for added color.

If it looks like my eyes are watering, it is because they are! They had that orange so caked on there that it started to irritate my eyes.
My new look: Orange on the eyes and sparkle clumps on the cheeks! Watch for it this spring season on all top models.

Our Plea for a Sandbox

This is what we see everyday- sometimes more or less water, but you get the idea. So this is my plea-my friend Katie knows there is a rich stranger out there that looks at her blog from time to time, so why can't I have a rich stranger for a blog stalker too? "So, to my strange blog stalker who is rich beyond measure, I need a sandbox for my kids to play in that is NOT close to the road. I have an idea where I would like it and also how big, leave me a comment and I will give you the details and where you can send the cash!!!- Thanks your strange blog friend, Tiffany P.S. You can come and play in it to, Jake (my husband) has really cool Tonka Toys that he got for his birthday a couple years back, you might think we are kind of fun to hang out with!"

The Damage has been done and we BOUGHT OUR TICKETS TO PARADISE!!! At this point, I could care less how much the airline stuck it to us (ok, I do care, but for acting tough sake), I can't wait for July to come!!!! All I know is I want to be sitting on a beach similar to this one, getting the tan of a lifetime, sipping something good, and enjoying our time in paradise!!!

Of all things

Of all the things that I SHOULD be doing today, I am looking around on the internet. I was on my favorite site http://www.sugardoodle.net/joomla/ trying to find a fully customized FREE printable calendar to make for my partner primary teacher and our activity day girls, when I came across this site http://thedahlingdatingdivas.blogspot.com/

I must say that life often takes over and I feel like Jake is the last one to get a piece of my time. Which I know he is a big boy and can handle it, but it is nice to have your spouses undivided attention even if it is only for a minute. But this site is super cute and has lots of good ideas. So come on women, buck up and give your spouse some time!!!!!

p.s. i am having a hard time finding a site to design my own CUTE calendar, any ideas?

Most upsetting

We are getting our trip planned for Hawaii in july--Wait back up the train, let me tell you why we HAVE to go to Hawaii. Tanner, Jake's brother is graduating from high school this year and after the traditional church history trip, some of his buddies wanted to go on a Hawaii trip. Well, they are not old enough to go by themselves, get a rental car, check into the time share, ect... so Tanner asked Jake and I if we wanted to "Chaperone" their trip. Of course we were like "HECK YES!!!" (Thank you Napoleon Dynamite for that quote). This has been in the making for quite a while and I have been checking airfare for a couple months and nothing less than about $750 has come about. Well yesterday Suz had found airfare for $477. WHAT???!!!???!!!! But by the time I had gathered all info needed to book our tickets, fares had gone back up into the 700's!!! What the **^>??#)<<%%+_<%! That SUCKS!!!

My Dad Rocks!!!

I have always been very appreciative of my dad's skills!!! But this last time my parents came down he just moved up a couple pedestals. This home we have doesn't have a whole lot of room for storage, so he came down to help us out with his amazing shelf building skills!!! We had a room in the basement that was an old coal storage room with nothing in it but insulation on the walls. So my dad transformed it into three walls full of shelves. And now it went from this:

To this: I can't believe how much I missed having somewhere to store food, and that you can actually see what you have. I know, I know, my shelves are a little bare still, but hopefully in the next couple months we can build up some storage.



As you can see, the much needed necessity of mac and cheese, ramen noodles, and soda pop!

Jake had an idea for dad to build some shelves above the stairs for his boots. At first I was like, "Whatev," but as you can see, YAHOO FOR KIM!!! They are perfect. Now his boots are off the floor and off the stairs. And "how do you reach?" you might ask, well, we are both tall. And the non working fire alarm works great for a hat hanger!!! Ha, Ha, ha!

Our first ever family snowman

On Teya's birthday, we woke up to snow. How bad of a mother am I? I have never made a snowman with my kids. I gotta tell you, it was kind of fun. Other than we weren't really prepared for sticking our hands in the snow (no gloves, the kids coats not zipped up) So after the first circle (or whatever you snowman makers call the bottom of the snowman), I ran inside to get something on my hands and we were off making our first snowman. The girls loved picking out rocks with the help of grandma, for the eyes and mouth.

We even have a dead branch in our back yard which made for easy arms! A little to long for his body, but hey, he'll grow into them right?

Here are some pictures of the other two boots that I am dying to have. I have tried them all on again, and the winner is... all of them. I still can't decide! They all ROCK!!!! So what is a girl to do? On one hand I should just have them all, Jake's one pair of boots costs as much as all 4 of these together, but on the other hand, where would I put them all? So I am looking for input from all my peeps out there- WHICH ONES ARE THE MOST AWESOME????
