I think that this is the first time that I have let Tai type on the keyboard. At first it started out that she had to type the letters that she knew and tell me the name, but that wasn't fast enough for her and it soon turned into a free for all! But here is Tai's first blog contribution!

VeGaS BaBy slash Daddy "WE MISS YOU"

So this week has flown by! Jake has been in Las Vegas with one of his bestest buddies Braydan Shaw working for Burns Saddlery at a cutting show. The girls and I stayed behind, and the time has gone by so fast. But we have missed Jake tremendously! I find myself watching for him to come home, or when I am sitting at my kitchen table and see something move out of the corner of my eye(usually the trees) in the backyard, I get tummy tingles thinking I am going to turn and see him coming from the shop, or when I think I can hear his footsteps coming and then it is nothing-I just miss Jake!!!!! But Holla- I get to go to Vegas to see him and also bring him home. Misty (Braydan's wife) and I are going down to hang out with our hotties!!! I can just see him now in his cowboy get up!!! We are only going for a couple days, but we both couldn't be more excited. Grandma and Grandpa Quarnberg are watching the girls and Tai is so excited to have a sleepover at Grandma Paula's (she even is thinking that she might get to sleep right in the middle of two of her favorite people ;) ) So a big thanks to them for allowing me to have a couple days vacation in VEGAS BABY!!!!!!

I can't believe how fast my girls are growing up. I took these pictures on Sunday and I just can't get over how big they are. Teya turning two has me running at all times. I love her to pieces. I flat ironed Tai's hair for church and I think it added like 10 years to her. She looks so grown up. She is my little tender hearted, big girl, who loves everyone!

Teya's 2 year old present

We are still in the process of having Teya's second birthday party, but we did let her open one present on her birthday. Jake came home for lunch and we busted this out. She loved it. Although it is so VERy sssssssllllllllooooooowwwwwww, she still liked it!

And.... this is what happens when sister doesn't get to ride it right off the bat! How many of you knew that it was hard to be a kid? It is definitely rough when a sibling has a birthday and you don't get stuff too. This was darn cute and only lasted for like point 5 seconds, but hey i got it on camera. A day in the life...

Drinking water

I have taught my children something bad (in some people's eyes), but I do this all the time! I may not look as cute as my girls do when they are getting a drink of water, but hey, what's a girl to do? I have yet to capture Teya doing this because she can't talk yet to tell me that she wants a drink out of the sink, but Tai can and so I hurried to snap a shot!

Getting Antsy for Spring

We had a really good couple of days with nice weather and it gets us all hyped up for Spring. Then just like that the wind comes in and takes those nice days away. It hasn't rained or anything, but the wind is aweful!!! I decided that I was ready to get outside and coming off a really gorgeous day the day before, I wanted to get all of Tai's preschool class to come to the park for lunch and play time! It was a good success. Most of the kids came and they had a lot of fun! Then the wind picked up, and with that everyone left!!!

Happy Birthday Teya

Well I officially no longer have a baby! (although I still call them my babies). Teya turned 2 on February 20th. In her eyes it was just another day. We tried to make it a little special with at least one gift (a mini 4 wheeler that goes about a 1/2 MPH-lame I know, but who knew?) We have been trying to schedule her birthday party 3 different times now, and no day has worked out yet due to out of towners, sicknesses and bad timing, so her party is still to come! But one thing stays the same from year to year, we have made it a tradition to take the girls swimming on their birthday. Both of my girls are FISH and can't get enough of water (that also includes showers and bath tubs). So they were both pretty excited to get to Gunnison to go swimming!

Teya loves to splash:
My big girl fishie:Let me just tell you, the baby pool water looked so nasty! But it was still warm and fun!Happy Birthday my little Teya Jane, Janie Bop, Jane-a-roo, and baby girl! I love you so much!!!

Daddy's little helpers

Anyone who knows jake knows that he likes a good back or neck rub and he will bug you until you just give in to keep him quiet! Well he has now found two little helpers! This is the way Jake has been getting his back rubbed! I was laughing so hard at this. I just think that I am so excited that I am off the hook! :) :) :) :)

Out to eat

We try really hard not to take our girls out to eat with us because of the hassle that it is. They always seen to be 10x as wild in public. But one of the days we were up to state wrestling we HAD to take them with us. We went to one of my favorite places The Pizza Factory. Grandpa ordered everyone a breadstick and they girls were in heaven. They thought these were pretty neat, it really helps that they taste divine!!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

I wanted to get my girls something that they would just love for Valentine's Day. Boy did I hit the mother load when i went to the Dollar Store. Stickers, stamps, & glitter glue!!!!!! Everything my girls love!!!!! (at a great price)

Cheer Sleepover = no sleep!!!

Tai and I celebrated at a Valentine PJ Sleepover Party with my Level 1 cheerleaders over the weekend. We played games, ate food, watched a movie, and tried to sleep. Tai had a lot of fun. She just loves my cheer girls! Tai finally fell asleep about 12:45 and I slept on and off until 6:10am. So really I didn't sleep that great. I woke up the next morning so sore and stiff. I am way to old to sleep on a hard floor!!! But we sure had fun!

Potty Training Journey

We are attempting "Potty Training" with Teya. She has sat on the potty several times, but nothing happened. But on this one occasion, she went poo-poo! She was so proud of herself. She got to have a potty treat. The funniest thing of all was she told Jake about a million times "da-da pee-pee" although she didn't go pee-pee! Here she is clapping for herself after we washed hands and ran out to tell daddy: Eating smarties: AKA potty treats:

State Wrestling 2009

Jake and I did what every parent dreads!!! We took the girls to state wrestling at UVU to watch Uncle Tanner. I spent most of my time wandering the halls with the girls! So I paid $10.00 to watch my own children! :) We look forward to this every year, although it would have been more enjoyable for us if they girls could have stayed behind. We did get to see what we came to watch, so I guess that is all that matters. We love you Tanner!

My little Blue eyed Blondes

I can't even put into words the joy these two bring into my life! They keep me guessing, loving, laughing, and growing! To my two little blue eyed blondes, I love you both more than you will ever know!

Elephant cake

I want to do an elephant cake for Teya's birthday. But I am really lame and don't know how. Any ideas from anyone on how to make this cake?

Aladdin

We have been watching Aladdin since we DVR'ed it a week ago. Jake decided to turn Teya's mumo into a "magic carpet ride". She loved it and then Tai loved it, but Jake's arms did not love it! When he would say, "ok that is enough" Teya would come over to him whining and say "da da rye" (daddy ride). It was so funny! His arms were pretty tired after all the "Magic Mumo Rides!"

Good Luck Tanner

This started many years back when Kipp wrestled- I make Good Luck Candy Bar posters. I know a little off when they are wrestlers and have to suck weight, but it is like my trade mark! It has just continued on over the years. I think this is the first time I have ever taken pictures of me doing it though. So here is the (almost) finished product:

I really do enjoy doing things like this. I know this sounds lame, but I LOVE my own handwriting and so I love to write things!

Here is my little Tai helping. This is the second year that she has got to help me. She loves to color and decorate things too:

This is the finished product at the bottom. I bet you can guess where my handy helper put her own finishing touches! I used to be really uptight and not want her to mess it up (kind of like when we color easter eggs and I just want them to be pretty instead of brown from all sorts of mixing colors and such), but now, I let it flow! She loves to help and that is the best part of all, that we can do it together and it is from both of us!

Getting ready for Valentine's Day

Tai gets to give out Valentines at her Pre-school on Friday, so we used our time wisely and got them ready days in advance! I found scratch & sniff ones! She thought they were perfect! She got to write her name on the back of each one and tape a smartie to it! She is getting so big!As always- our mischieveous handy helper, Teya Jane:

For Old Time's Sake

I am still new to scanning, so i don't know how to get the picture larger, but I came across this photo while I was looking for a camera cord (you know the ones that you seriously can't find, but you can find every other cord that you know you haven't used in at least 10 years?) But I got a good laugh out of this. It is very rare that we have any sort of family picture. This was July of 2000.

Who knew:

Jake's Aunt Deanne pointed this out to me a couple of weeks ago. Check out the ingredients in this sour cream. I immideately came home and checked out the ingredients in my GV brand from walmart, who listed at least 10 different things. Who knows if it really will kill me in the end, I am not sure that anyone would care to check out what finally did me in, but at least it won't be the ingredients from sour cream (not anymore anyway). Also I got this email a couple weeks ago and I immediatley sent it to everyone I know. I have gotten back some reply's to this, and WHO KNEW???? They need to do a commercial on the proper way to use this stuff. The following is the email I recieved:

Was this something we were supposed to learn from our Mom's?????I can't believe it's been there all this time. I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it, and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out, when I was trying to cover something up.I'm sharing this with my friends. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this. I know you're going to go and check your boxes, so go ahead!

Top Teya Words

I have been meaning to do this for a while, since Teya has started talking, but I wanted to show everyone her words and what they mean:

1- gankie (blankie)
2- mi-mi (binkie)
3- coo (cool)
4- o-you (hold you)
5- mick (milk)
6- abble (apple)
7- uh oh (uh oh)
8- teeze (cheese)
9- amul (animal)
10- kuh kuh (clink clink, like on the wheels on the bus)
11- oop I pilled (Oops, I spilled)
12- mumo (Dumbo-or any elephant she is playing with)

I wrote down a couple things that Tai has said lately that is really cute:

1- she used to call our neighbor Shauna- "Sha non a"
2- used to call a dolphin a "dolphint"
3- One day when she was over at Grandma Paula's, Uncle Tanner threw a ball at her and it hit her in the chest. This is what she told Tanner; "you hit me in the place where the blood goes down from my heart!" Where does she get so smart? Must be from me! :) :) :)
4- "Mom these are your choices..." Do you think she has ever heard that before?
5- "Mom, I can't get Teya's diaper on!!!" You can imagine my panic to see what was going on there!
6- When I ask Tai if she will stay this age forever she says, "I have to get bigger and bigger so that I can go to Kindergarten."

My girls are growing up so fast it makes me sad, I want to be able to remember what they said when they were little. It isn't really fair that time goes by so fast!

Forgotten photos:

I forgot to post this event! Tai, my little party planner, planned a tea party over Christmas break. We invited a couple friends & cousins and they had a blast. (Do you think there is any place in this world for a Paleontologistic Shamu Party planner-which company do you think would hire?)

Kempton, Katelyn, Dallee, Rilee, Tai, Aspen, Ramzy, & Teya

Tai loves to pour the "Tea"/hot chocholateTeya is always more interested in making a mess and drinking something sugary!

We are Family...

This weekend we were all here!!!! Can everyone believe it? I had to stick my camera up on a tri-pod and run back and forth trying to get a picture of all of us. (Jami-we need you!!!)

Poker Night

First off Happy 30 th Birthday Braydan- we follow not to long after! Jake and I went to a Poker party for one of his bestfriend's birthday. I had never played poker with real money and with people that take this very seriously. I had to have major help, so thank you to my cheat sheet, Trent Halliday, and Misty for helping me out to learn the ropes of Poker at the Shaws! It was so much fun. We got there late, so we missed all the killer prizes that were won, but we helped donate to the cause of where they came from, by donating out money (otherwise known as-loosing) to the Shaws! They cleaned house!!!!! Let's do it again very soon! We had so much fun!

Here I am on my first official "loose your money to the big boys" night! Jake was so funny, he knows more about Texas Hold'em than I do, but he was still learning too! His whole goal was to get enough chips to stack them as high as his Dr. Pepper
